Australian rising star Priscilla Hon has received a Brisbane International wildcard following Venus Williams' withdrawal.

Hon, 21, will look to back up a promising 2019 season when she joins a star studded Brisbane field headlined by world No.1 Ashleigh Barty of Australia starting on Monday.

World No.124 Hon broke through for her first grand slam main draw victory at the 2019 French Open before falling to eventual quarter-finalist Madison Keys of the USA in the second round.

The young gun also made her Fed Cup debut last year, helping Australia make their first final since 1993.

Hon slots into the Brisbane field after former world No.1 Williams pulled out following a training setback.

World No.52 Williams - a 10-time grand slam winner - still hopes to contest the Adelaide International from January 11-18.
