Aussie Bolt trounced at Adelaide ATP

Australia's Alex Bolt has been thrashed by Felix Auger-Aliassime in a quarter-final at the Adelaide International ATP tournament.

Australian wildcard Alex Bolt's run at the Adelaide International has ended.

Canadian second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime has demolished Bolt 6-3 6-0 in Thursday night's quarter-final at Memorial Drive.

Bolt, an Adelaide resident ranked 157 in the world, had no answers to a the world No.22 Auger-Aliassime, who will meet Russia's Andrey Rublev in a Friday night semi-final.

The other semi-final will feature two qualifiers - South African Lloyd Harris and American Tommy Paul.

Both produced upset results in their respective quarter-finals, with Harris beating fourth seed Pablo Carreno Busta 6-3 6-3 and Paul defeating Spain's world No.42 Albert Ramos-Vinolas 6-3 6-4.

Third seed Rublev remains on track for consecutive ATP titles - after winning last week in Doha, he advanced to the semis in Adelaide by downing Daniel Evans 6-4 3-6 6-3.

Rublev said he was well aware of the dangers presented by 19-year-old Auger-Aliassime.

"Felix, we know ... that he's (an) upcoming great player," Rublev said.

But regardless of the outcome, Rublev was heartened by his displays in Adelaide ahead of the Australian Open starting Monday in Melbourne.

"It's (the) beginning of the season, you need to feel rhythm again," he said.

"For me ... I like to play more matches, and especially here is conditions the same as in Melbourne."
