PLAYER OF THE DAY: Aslan Karatsev - Unheralded Russian qualifier Aslan Karatsev fought back from two sets down to outlast 20th-seeded Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 3-6 1-6 6-3 6-3 6-4. The world No.114 is the seventh man in the Open era to make the quarter-finals on his grand slam debut.

STAT OF THE DAY: Taiwan's 35-year-old Hsieh Su-Wei became the oldest first-time grand-slam quarter-finalist in the open era with a straight-sets win over 2019 French Open runner-up Marketa Vondrusova.
