Golden World Cup swim meet for Australia

Mitch Larkin has led a golden World Cup swimming meet for Australia in Singapore, which included victory in the 4x50m free mixed relay.

Australians have bagged 14 golds to top the medal count at the swimming World Cup meet in Singapore, with Mitch Larkin claiming three individual events.

Larkin was one of seven Australians to win gold while the 4x50m free mixed relay team also claimed victory.

Queenslander Larkin won both the 100m (53.43 secs) and 200m baskstroke (1:56.60) and added the 200m individual medley (1:57.43) to his list of victories.

Grant Irvine was successful in the 100m (51.26) and 200m butterfly (1:56.77) while Ben Roberts won the 1500m in 15:21.58 and Thomas Fraser-Holmes took our the 400m IM (4:17.14).

Australia's women weren't to be overshadowed and they claimed a further six gold medals.

Emily Seebohm and Holly Barratt both won twice in the 100m / 200m backstroke and the 50m back and 50m butterfly respectively.

Cate Campbell maintained her dominance in the 50m freestyle by winning in 24.02, while Maddy Gough took the 400m free in 4:08.09.

The seven-leg World Cup resumes on October 4-6 in Budapest, Hungary.

All legs of the World Cup this year act as qualifying events for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic.

Meanwhile, Russian Vladimir Morozov set three World Cup records in Singapore, in the 50m/100m free and the 50m back.

In the freestyle events, Morozov clocked times of 21.27 in the sprint and 47.88 in the 100m, while he finished in 24.40 in the 50m back.

Lithuania's Danas Rapsys set a World Cup record in the 200m free as he touched home in 1:44.38.
