Graduates of the Karaka sales finished first and second in the opening black type race of the 2018-19 New Zealand racing season in the G3 Winter Cup at Riccarton Park.

Aternatin, a product of the NZB National Yearling Sales Series by Showcasing, proved too good for his age group in New Zealand’s final black-type feature of the season, the Listed Ryder Stakes at Awapuni.

Atenartin will front up for a black type challenge at the top of his game after breaking his duck on his home track.
