Macau’s champion jockey Ruan Maia has been under siege in recent weeks with both Luis Corrales and Peter Ho applying the pressure to last season’s runaway winner of the premiership.

Peter Ho, last season’s champion rider in Macau, got the new season off to a flying start with a winning treble on Saturday’s mixed turf and sand card at Taipa.
