Trainer Leslie Khoo is under no illusions his staying mare Claudia’s Beauty might have her job cut out in Friday night’s $85,000 Class 2 race over 1800m, but is still hoping for an improved performance at her second run from a break.

Trainer Leslie Khoo was looking forward to a bit of Girl Power at this Sunday’s $1 million Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup (1800m), but it won’t be for this time.

Nobody gave $346 rank-outsider Claudia’s Beauty a chance in the Group 1 Emirates Singapore Derby (1800m), but though she didn’t win, her flying sixth did take a few by surprise.

Trainer Leslie Khoo has been toying with Singapore Derby ideas for Claudia’s Beauty for a while, especially after the four-year-old mare’s slashing last win, but thought why not take a throw at the stumps in the earlier Leg of the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge as well, the Charity Bowl.
