A colt by the late Duramente proves most expensive as figures rise

Many of Japan’s elite classic season horses line the Race History of the Satsuki Sho (Japanese 2000 Guineas) run at Nakayama on Sunday.

Japan has a record 11 entries for this year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp but it appears only one will make it to Chantilly for Europe’s greatest race.

Tommy Berry rode four winners over the weekend in Japan but missed out in his major assignment when unplaced in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen at Hanshin in Osaka.
