A trip north to contest the Gr.2 Norwood Family Wellington Guineas (1400m) at Trentham beckons for multiple stakes-winning filly Emily Margaret after a dominant on-speed victory at Wingatui on Saturday in the Listed NZB Insurance Stakes (1400m).

In form three-year-old filly Emily Margaret has already one stakes victory to her name this spring and she will be looking to add the Listed Zacinto Stakes (1600m) to that tally at Riccarton on Saturday.

Riccarton-trained three-year-old Emily Margaret will take another step towards the Gr.1 gavelhouse.com New Zealand 1000 Guineas (1600m) when she tackles the Inglewood Stud Guineas Trial (1400m) on her home track on Saturday.

Locally trained filly Emily Margaret showed all her fighting qualities as she withstood a fierce challenge from northern visitor Wekaforce to claim the Listed New Zealand Bloodstock Canterbury Belle Stakes (1200m) at Riccarton.
