Chris Scholtz previews Day 1 of The Championships at Randwick with best bets and selections for all races plus Trial Watch and Blackbook Reports.

A record number of nominations have been taken for The Championships including 181 entries for the Doncaster Mile and 121 for the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Prize money for both the Country and Provincial Championship finals has been lifted to $500,000.

Winx will be the headline act at Randwick for the second day of The Championships.

The Championships in Sydney has attracted a total of 1371 nominations across the 10 feature races.
