Old warrior Grey Missile could be running for the last time at Townsville on Friday before a likely career as a clerk of the course.

It’s been a long time between drinks for old warrior Grey Missile but trainer Roy Chillemi is hoping the gelding’s run of outs can end in the Open Handicap at Townsville’s Cluden Park on Thursday.

As Roy Chillemi collects his 16th Cluden Park trainers’ premiership, the experienced Atherton Tablelands trainer says his “football team” is coming together nicely ahead of the 2021 Cleveland Bay Handicap.

It is a fitting farewell for Don Scheffler to officially retire from the Country Racing Advisory Panel during the week of the TAB Battle of the Bush Final.
