Tahiyra ensured it was back-to-back Irish 1000 Guineas for the Dermot Weld team by going one better than at Newmarket three weeks ago on the Curragh this afternoon.

It is unlikely we will see a repeat of the thrilling finish that the 1000 Guineas produced at Newmarket, but the Irish 1000 Guineas may be an opportunity for the second-placed Tahiyra to right a Classic wrong.

Racing fans can enjoy a competitive card of top-class action at the Curragh on Sunday, in addition to the two Group 1 races.

Dermot Weld will be looking to repeat his success last year with Homeless Songs as Tahiyra looks set to be sent off odds-on for Sunday's Irish 1000 Guineas at the Curragh following her titanic tussle with Mawj on the Rowley Mile three weeks ago.

A narrowly beaten second in the 1000 Guineas on the Rowley Mile at Newmarket, the Dermot Weld-trained filly Tahiyra will next race in the Irish equivalent on Sunday week.
