The Summer Racing Festival switches to the north west coast on Wednesday for the running of the $125,000 Ladbrokes Devonport Cup (1880m), which has attracted a quality field with a host of chances.

The Devonport duo of trainer Adam Trinder and his stable apprentice Erica Byrne Burke combined to win the feature race on the program, the $50,000 Golden Mile (1650m) in Devonport on Friday.

Capital Cheval ($3.20 – $2.20 fav) proved his last start Hobart win was no fluke with a gutsy effort to make it two-in-a-row, scoring a narrow but tough win in the 1420m Class 1 in Launceston on Wednesday night.

Classy mare Miss Charlie Brown is on target for a crack at some of the feature races over summer, most likely the Hobart and Launceston Cups, after her impressive return to racing in the Flinders Island Cup over 1400m in Launceston on Friday night.
