A black type credit at Hastings this weekend will cap a rewarding campaign for the progressive staying mare Pure Lorde.

The newly minted training combination of Graham Richardson and Gavin Parker couldn’t have asked for a better start to their partnership when promising mare Pure Lorde provided them with a winning start at Awapuni on the weekend.

Hopefully trainer Graham Richardson has a comfortable seat and some good tunes on the stereo in his motor vehicle after spending most of the weekend travelling between racing venues.

Foxwedge filly Volpe Veloce extended her unbeaten record to five wins from five starts and picked up her first points in the New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year Series when she won the G3 Eulogy Stakes at Awapuni on Saturday.

Normal service was resumed at Ellerslie on Saturday with the champion jockey Opie Bosson showcasing his skills in the saddle.
