3 minute read

There was a distinctly winter feel about the nine race program at Randwick on Saturday however a few performances could be well worth following moving forward.

Excellent Proposal is likely stakes bound after winning a two-year-old handicap to commence the program while connections of Haut Brion Her waxed lyrical about their ‘special’ fillies ‘bright future’ after she won a 3YO Benchmark 74 Handicap (1200m).

Wu Gok and Dr Drill look on track to contest middle distance stakes events early in the spring after their respective successes.

Finishing behind Dr Drill was the David Payne-trained Costello who after Saturday appears poised to salute in his third up outing, potentially a 2000m Benchmark 78 Handicap at Rosehill on August 10.
