Seaway continued Chris Waller’s dominance of the Winter Challenge Stakes, giving the stable their fifth success in the event through the past five years.

The day started well for the stable with filly Lucicello dominating a 2YO Handicap.

The daughter of I Am Invincible is expected to tackle The Rosebud (1100m) in a fortnight.

Another who could be stakes bound next month is Bon Amis who returned to the winner’s circle in taking out the 1100m Open Handicap.

The Jason Deamer-trained gelding has now won eight of 18 career starts and could tackle early spring sprints as the fit horse on the scene.
