14:05 Haydock - Thebannerkingrebel

There is an interesting makeup to this race with both Snookered and Thebannerkingrebel confirmed front runners, and if they take each other on it could well be set up for Edwardstone. However, these sorts of things rarely play out as expected and a chance is taken on Thebannerkingrebel having too much speed for his main market rival - he clocked a good time when winning a listed event over C&D in November.

14:50 Taunton - Yala Enki

This 3½m mile trip in testing conditions is going to take plenty of getting and that plays right into the hands of mudlark Yala Enki. He should have too much class and too much stamina for his rivals having made a solid start to life with Paul Nicholls.

14:25 Ascot - Bold Plan

Bold Plan was mightily impressive in landing a gamble last time and the way he overcame the run of the race in that contest suggests he's up to defying this 10 lb higher mark, and that contest has worked out reasonably well since.

15:35 Ascot - Un de Sceaux

This race is a must-not-miss rematch between former winner Un De Sceaux and Defi De Seuil. The betting suggests that repeat rather than revenge is on the plate, though this is very much Un De Sceuax's race, back for a fourth win. He's sure to be primed and heavy ground at Ascot very much plays to his strengths.
