Warren racecourse in the far west of NSW is a virtual replica of the famous Royal Randwick racecourse in Sydney.Warren racecourse, 520km from Sydney and 115km west of Dubbo on the Macquarie River, is known as the ‘Randwick of the West’ for its size and design. The course is the home of the Warren & District Jockey Club, voted the Community Club of the Year by Racing NSW in 2014.
Warren, with a population of 2500, races four times each year with two feature meetings being the Cotton Cup in November and the famed twilight races in December that draws visitors from as far as Melbourne and Brisbane. Warren Racecourse is adjacent to the Warren Showgrounds complex and has a layout almost identical to Randwick.

The cirucmference of 2200 metres makes it one of the biggest country racecourses in Australia and has chute starting points at the 1000m, 1200m and 1600m that replicate the starts at Randwick. Warren racecourse proper is 24 metres wide with slight cambers on the generous turns and a long home straight of 430 metres. Warren racecourse also boasts one of the biggest grandstands in country NSW while track and training facilities include a sand training track, sand roll, day stalls, fully enclosed boxes and day yards. Warren racecourse is also an important venue for polocrosse, rodeos, pony club events and the Agricultural Show in May.
