Brazilian rider Vagner Borges has an excellent record in his home land and has also taken to some riding around the world.
He commenced riding in the 2009/2010 season as an apprentice based at Gavea Racecourse in Rio de Janeiro.
Showing exceptional riding talent, during the 2011/2012 racing season was able to take out the Jockeys' Championship in just his third season.
He has since claimed the Jockey's title on a further three occasions.
In all, he has 10 wins at Group 1 level. Borges is a natural lightweight and is able to ride comfortably at 113 lbs.
In 2019 the Hong Kong Jockey Club granted Vagner Borges a Visiting Jockey's Licence so he could compete at the end of the season.
