Moor ruled out of Flemington Carnival

A mishap at Cranbourne will see jockey Daniel Moor miss Melbourne Cup week at Flemington.

Jockey Daniel Moor has been forced out of the Melbourne Cup Carnival following an incident at the Cranbourne jump-outs on Monday.

In a statement posted on social media, Moor said he had been stood down from riding for 12 days in accordance with Racing Victoria's Jockey Concussion Protocol.

"As I feel in good health, it is (a) very frustrating and disappointing outcome as we head into the Flemington Spring Racing Carnival," Moor posted on X (formerly Twitter).

"I do, however, understand and respect the protocol is in place to protect the health and safety of not only myself, but fellow riders.

"I am thankful for the support from trainers and owners that I receive and look forward to being of service when I return.

"I also look forward to completing a cognitive function test in 12 days' time, with a return to race riding as soon as possible."

Moor had been engaged for rides at Bendigo on Wednesday, including Stormbolt and Brayden Star in the day's feature, the Group 3 Bendigo Cup (2400m).
