Godolphin contender Red Galileo is out of the Melbourne Cup and remaining engagements at the spring carnival.

The Saeed bin Suroor-trained stayer pulled up lame after trackwork on Wednesday morning.

The Godolphin stable advised that he will not continue with his spring preparation. He made his Australian debut in last week's Geelong Cup.

The 9YO Red Galileo was 33rd on the order of entry for next Tuesday's $8 milion Melbourne Cup at Flemington.
