Victorian Moves For Americain and Al Maher

Melbourne Cup winner Americain will relocate to Daisy Hill Farm in Victoria in 2019.

The 2010 Melbourne Cup has been standing at Swettenham Stud in Victoria since he started his stud career.

The son Dynaformer will be the foundation sire at Daisy Hill, located 30km north east of Melbourne at Doreen.

The stud is owned by Colleen and Kevin Bamford, who raced Americain in partnership with Jayco Caravans proprietor Gerry Ryan.

"We're excited to have him as our foundation stallion," said Daisy Hill's Shane Freeman.

Americain, who won 11 races in Europe and Australia, has been at stud since 2013 and to date has sired 72 winners of 127 races.

His best runner has been the US stakes winner Causeforcommotion and Australian stakes performers American Joy and Amerock.

Proven Group One sire Al Maher is also on the move with the son of Danehill to stand at Stockwell Stud in Victoria in 2019.

The Australian Guineas winner is relocating from NSW after a long career at Emirates Park/Aquis Farm at Murrurundi.

Al Maher is the sire of 34 individual stakes performers including four G1 winners - Delicacy, Fat Al, Diamond Drille and Almalad.
