One of the form horses in the region, Beau Rock boasts three impressive wins and three placings from his six starts this preparation.

The consistent galloper will line up in Friday's TAB Federal (1000m) for Canberra Trainer Gratz Vella after a strong third at Albury (1000m) three weeks ago. Prior to that run Beau Rock had put together three consecutive victories here on his home track at Thoroughbred Park.

"It's a big plus to be back on our home track." Vella said. "His track work has been great and everything's going well so I wouldn't be surprised if we get his fourth win of the preparation."

"I got him off Inglis Digital as a maiden and gave him a nice long preparation because he just kept showing me that he was thriving in racing and he was collecting nice paychecks."

"I sent him for a nice spell after that which I think along with his long first prep for me has been the making of him."

Aaron Sweeney has been engaged for the ride with Beau Rock having drawn barrier nine of 10. Vella isn't discouraged by the draw given his galloper's versatility.

"He's shown he can roll forward or take a sit, even at Albury last start he settled second last before a massive last 200m. A few more strides and I think he would have pinched it." Vella said.
Friday's feature, the TAB Federal, presents as an intriguing contest with Yass Trainer Allan Mcrae entering a new addition to his stable in Saddle The Sun.

The nine-year-old by Helmet hasn't been seen at the races since January 2020 but is a high quality galloper on his day. He was placed second behind Savvy Oak (NZ) at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup Carnival of 2019.

Saddle The Sun trialled well at Thoroughbred Park back in April but will have to contest with the widest barrier (10) on Friday. 4kg claiming Apprentice Emma Ly will take the ride and bring her mount's weight down to 59kgs.

The TAB Federal is Race Seven on Friday's program and will jump at 3:33pm.
