With the season’s Group 1 racing almost at an end, early punters are turning their attention to the spring feature races where Winx is expected to be the pin-up girl again.

Winx is the most dominant favourite in the TAB’s early markets on Melbourne’s big three spring races, with the Chris Waller-trained mare a clear $3 favourite.

Winx holds a $12 margin on the second line of betting as she attempts back-to-back Cox Plate victories.

That $15 line is shared by the quinella from the 2016 Queen Elizabeth Stakes Lucia Valentina and The United States, along with former Kiwi and now star Hong Kong galloper Werther.

Two more international stars are at $21 in the Japanese duo of A Shin Hikari and Maurice with Tarzino and Yankee Rose at the same price.

The Melbourne Cup market sees last year’s runner-up Max Dynamite at the top of betting at $15.

Irish trainer Willie Mullins has indicated the 2016 Melbourne Cup will again be on the agenda of Max Dynamite, with the horse that beat him last year – Prince Of Penzance – a $31 chance.

The second line of betting is shared by Curren Merotic and fellow Japanese galloper Fame Game, a beaten favourite in last year’s Melbourne Cup, with Signoff also sharing the $18 line with them.

Ten gallopers are quoted at $21 including Amralah, Order Of St George, Tarzino, Our Ivanhowe and Preferment.

The winners of Australia’s two major derbies this season, Tarzino and Tavago, share $15 favouritism for the 2016 Caulfield Cup.

Winners of the Melbourne and Sydney classics respectively, they head Amralah, Our Ivanhowe and The United States who all share the $18 line of betting.
