Humidor has caused an upset in the 2020 running of the Group 2 Ladbrokes Feehan Stakes, taking out the win ahead of Surprise Baby and Harbour Views and booking his place into the 2020 Ladbrokes Cox Plate.

The 8YO gelding was first-up today for new trainer Chris Waller and he showed he was ready to stamp himself as a contender ahead of the Spring Racing Carnival.

"Congratulations to Chris Waller and Damian Lane on winning the Ladbrokes Feehan Stakes with Humidor and booking his place into the 2020 Ladbrokes Cox Plate," said Michael Browell, MVRC CEO.

"It was a great training effort by Chris to have the eight-year-old gelding back to his best to take out today's race, a horse that has such a rich history with the Cox Plate given his close second to Winx in 2017"

"Humidor won't be missing the final field this year and will take his place in the 2020 Ladbrokes Cox Plate"

"The Ladbrokes Feehan Stakes is the only ballot exempt race in 2020, with the final field to now be selected at the discretion of the MVRC Committee on Tuesday October 20 at the Breakfast with the Best".

First acceptances for the 2020 Ladbrokes Cox Plate close at noon on Tuesday 8 September.
