Having completed a dual state stakes double on Saturday, partners Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young will this week attempt to one up that achievement by chasing a two-state Group 1 double.

The pair has Tagaloa running in the $2 million Caulfield Guineas (1600m) and Wertheimer in the $1 million Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) at Randwick.

It comes after Mirage Dancer won the Group 1 Metropolitan (2400m) at Randwick on Saturday and Sierra Sue claimed the Group 2 Rose Of Kingston Stakes (1400m) at Flemington.

Young said she is delighted with the progress Tagaloa has made since his last start 1.8 length sixth to Behemoth in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 19.

Tagaloa, to be ridden for the first time by Craig Williams, is an $11 chance in latest TAB betting that has Ole Kirk the $4.50 favourite ahead of Kings Legacy and Mounga.

"I'm really happy, Young said.

"He did a nice piece of work on Saturday and Craig is coming on Tuesday to have a sit on him and have a gallop and hopefully put the final touches on him.

"I'm rapt with the way he's come through that last run.

"I keep watching the replay. It was pretty good, he wasn't far off them, and through the line he was pretty good so don't forget about him yet."

Wertheimer will be lining up for his fifth race start at Randwick on Saturday and is coming off a last start unlucky sixth in the Victoria Derby Trial (1800m) at Flemington on September 23.

Young said the stable was sending Wertheimer to Sydney chasing a similar program to their 2011 Group 1 Victoria Derby winner Sangster.

"We're going to take the Sangster path," Young said.

"Sangster ran third in Spring Champion and then we brought him back down and he won the Derby.

"He (Wertheimer) worked up a treat on Saturday the Sydney way. He changed legs and is doing everything right and has really thrived since that last race."

Fellow three-year-old Albarado is also heading towards the $2 million Group 1 Victoria Derby (2500m) at Flemington on October 31 following his third-placed finish in the Listed Super Impose Stakes (1800m) at Flemington on Saturday.

"He looked like he got to the front a little bit too soon and he's a bit dumb and raw still and he needs something to chase, but he'll be right," Young said.

"We'll probably go to the 2000 (metres) now, the old Caulfield Classic and then into the Derby.

"He's by the right sire, Savabeel and is shaping up nice."
