Come the start of the new racing season, the Lindsay Park stable will be different to the one that was operating five years ago.

David Hayes is now in Hong Kong, Tom Dabernig will be gone having decided to go out on his own and long-time racing manager Rayan Moore has also departed.

Ben Hayes will be joined by his brother JD from August 1, but before that there is some unfinished business before seasons end.

Dabernig remains in a partnership with his cousin Ben Hayes until July 31 and hopes to add one last Group 1 trophy to the mantlepiece before his departure.

So Si Bon will aim to give Dabernig a 20th Group 1 win in his years as a training partner with the Hayes family, having had four with David, 14 when Ben joined the pair and one with Ben after David departed for Hong Kong.

So Si Bon is a $41 outsider in the Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on Saturday and sadly for Dabernig he will not be able to watch the race in person with the current COVID travel restrictions in place.

Blaike McDougall, second to Chris Parnham on the Australian Jockeys' Premiership, heads to Brisbane on Saturday to partner So Si Bon who was ridden by Craig Williams when 13th of 14 runners in the Group 1 Kingsford-Smith Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm on May 29.

"He drew an inside gate and we fell into the trap of riding him forward," Dabernig told RSN.

"He did win the Caulfield race leading, but that was a different tempo.

"Back to the 1300 metres, the pressure had him out of his comfort zone.

"He was beaten 3.8 lengths and on Saturday he's drawn barrier nine, so he can be ridden where he can balance up and hopefully get dragged into it."
