Sandy Prince has made the progression from a Moe maiden win to score at Sandown.
Lindsay Park may have unearthed a potential spring contender with the all-the-way victory of Sandy Prince at Sandown.
The Ben and Jd Hayes-trained galloper landed his second win on end when successful in the Ladbrokes Switch Handicap (1400m) on Wednesday.
Sandy Prince broke his maiden status at Moe on Wednesday when ridden by Craig Williams who again had the ride on Wednesday.
Beginning smartly, Sandy Prince ($3.30) scored by 2-¼ lengths from Sealion ($4.20) with Saint Tropez ($12) a length away third.
"It was good field with five last start winners and I really liked the way he ran out the 1400 metres so strong," Ben Hayes said.
"He's a horse that's been improving with every start and what I loved about that today was he did everything right, his manners were good and he was strong through the line.
"He's exciting so he might be putting his hand up to run in some of those nice spring races."
While it might be aiming high at this stage of his career, Sandy Prince hold nominations for two Group 1 races, the Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill next month and the Caulfield Guineas (1600m) in October.
Williams has now ridden Sandy Prince in his three starts this campaign and first partnered the son of Pride Of Dubai when second in a Geelong maiden last month.
He followed the three-year-old to Moe where Sandy Prince ploughed through the heavy ground to record a soft win.
"I really liked this horse when they introduced me to him in a jump-out and I was very happy to go to Geelong to ride him," Williams said.
"This horse is still learning but he's going the right way and it will be interesting to see where they go to next and where he ends up this preparation."
