Jason Collett has bought up an early double on Wednesday's Randwick-Kensington card with two impressive maiden victories.

The first race of the day saw the Matthew Dunn-trained Rocklily lead all the way for a dominant 1.87 length victory.

The daughter of Exceed and Excel was narrowly edged out a fortnight ago at Newcastle but turned the tables to bring up her maiden victory.

Her trainer Matthew Dunn said he's always had an opinion of the three-year-old.

"We've always had a decent rap for her, she's shown plenty of talent," he said.

"(I was a) Little bit nervous early in the race when she skipped away that quickly up front.

"She's probably in work for the Flight Stakes, whether she's good enough to get there we'll find out over her next couple of runs.

"She's very tough. She's taken until now to mature properly, that's why we've looked after her.

"(There are) Good things ahead for her."

Collett brought up the early double with Tristate taking out the Arrowfield Virtual Parade Handicap (1100m).

The son of Headwater was tried in Stakes company last campaign, finishing fifth in the Group Two Skyline Stakes.

The three-year-old colt showed a good sprint at the top of the straight to win comfortably by 1.16 lengths.

Jason Collett said Tristate has returned in good order.

"He did show that last preparation that there was definitely something there and there probably a bit more there now," he said.

"It was a little bit tricky in the straight.

"He was doing it quite easily past the leader and then he wanted to shy away.

"He's definitely come back well, he trialled nice going into it and it's a good start to the prep anyway."

Race favourites Unwritten and Omni Man finished fourth and fifth in their respective races.
