An early look – Lee Steere Stakes day

3 minute read

Next week sees the running of the Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) and Listed Fairetha Stakes (1400m) at Ascot. The Lee Steere Stakes looms as a select field, while the three-year-old colts and geldings get their chance to press their claims for the WA Guineas. Last year’s Fairetha Stakes was taken out by Kallaroo, above.

Defending champion Kay Cee headlines the Lee Steere Stakes field. The Velvet King is set to make his return and could have Chris Parnham aboard. Clint Johnston-Porter has been booked to ride Massimo which could see the ride on Kissonallforcheeks up for grabs, with the D Morton-trained mare a strong chance to feature in the Weight-For-Age event. Jarrad Noske will return to feature race riding aboard Tellem We're Comin.
