Racing and Wagering Western Australia stewards ordered a redraw of barriers for The Quokka following an error when a number was linked to an incorrect horse.

An opportunity to match the deeds of one of Perth’s most popular and successful mares is added incentive for Massimo in the WAROA- Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) at Ascot on Saturday.

In racing if it’s all about timing then the Gangemi stable are counting down to the Ascot Masters and Saturday’s $1 million Group 1 Heineken 3 Railway Stakes (1600m) with great delight.

Massimo is fast becoming a favourite of the Gangemi stable.

Next week sees the running of the Group 2 Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) and Listed Fairetha Stakes (1400m) at Ascot. The Lee Steere Stakes looms as a select field, while the three-year-old colts and geldings get their chance to press their claims for the WA Guineas. Last year’s Fairetha Stakes was taken out by Kallaroo, above.
