Dream Circle will continue his march towards the Magic Millions Cup at the Gold Coast when he heads to Randwick on a seven-day back-up.

After resuming with a closing second to Vulpine in the Starlight Stakes (1100m), the five-year-old was only getting warm late when fifth to Special Reward in the Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) last weekend.

Trainer David Payne has given him a quiet week and confirmed he would take his place in Saturday's Acy Securities Handicap over a more suitable 1400 metres.

"I just think he has lost his early speed and he is looking for further," Payne said.

"The extra distance will suit him.

"He's happy and well so we're really pleased with him."

The Chris Waller-trained Bigboyroy is a $3.40 favourite for Saturday's race while Dream Circle is a $10 chance.

The Bjorn Baker pair of Frosty Rocks and Prime Candidate should inject some pace into the race and Payne is hoping Dream Circle can find a position midfield and produce his trademark strong finish for apprentice Tom Sherry.

Sherry has ridden him in both starts this campaign and connections didn't hesitate to keep him on.

"He's a good kid and he rides as well as anybody," Payne said.

Saturday's race has attracted a field of 10 but both Tricky Gal and The Lord Mayor have also been paid up for the Listed Lough Neagh Stakes (1400m) in Brisbane.

Dream Circle will be Queensland-bound after Saturday with Payne confirming next month's $1 million Magic Millions Cup (1400m) is on the horse's radar.
