Chris Bieg is optimistic SA mare Diamonds can make her presence felt in today’s TAB Magic Millions Fillies and Mares (1300m) on the Gold Coast.

A track upgrade to a Soft 6 on Thursday morning was welcomed by connections of Diamonds who will jump from a wide gate in the $1m feature.

"I'd imagine they're going to be coming out wide so we're going to need plenty of luck,'' Chris Bieg said.

Despite a tough trip, Bieg said Diamonds had thrived once she acclimatised to the Queensland conditions.

"She did take a couple of days to get back eating and drinking properly,'' Bieg said.

"It was a long trip, we travelled by float from Adelaide to Ballarat, then it was 12 hours box to box from Ballarat to the Gold Coast (via plane),'' he said.

Diamonds comes off consecutive Listed victories in Adelaide and Bieg is hopeful their red hot run in combination with apprentice jockey Teagan Voorham can continue on the big stage.

"She's a mare in-form, we come up here with a little bit of confidence,'' Bieg said.
