Jolly stable chasing more Melbourne success at Flemington on Oaks Day

Richard and Chantelle Jolly will chase their second win in the $200,000 Group 3 Ottawa Stakes (1000m) in three years with Karavas at Flemington on Thursday.

The stable go to Melbourne in flying form following four winners at Morphettville on Melbourne Cup Day following on from John Letts Cup success with Pudding last weekend.

The stable won the 2021 edition of the Ottawa with See You In Heaven and cross the border with the son of Alabama Express who comes off victory in the Moorundi Classic at Murray Bridge over 900m on debut.

"He's come through that win very well,'' Richard Jolly said.

Leading jockey Jake Toeroek had a day out at Morphettville on Tuesday riding the four Jolly winners, adding a fifth with Sabermetric for Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle, and makes the trip to Melbourne to partner the youngster and stablemate Aviatress in the Group 3 Red Roses, a race the stable won last year with Aitch Two Oh.

Aviatress is unbeaten in two starts in SA.

"We're happy with both horses going to Flemington and expecting both to very be competitive,'' Jolly said.

Chris Bieg also tackling the Ottawa Stakes with Yes Yes Tess who chased home Karavas at her first start.
