The seven-year-old was badly held-up when beaten 1.8 lengths behind Cause For Concern in the Damien Oliver on Derby Day before backing up three days later and running fifth behind Forgot You in the Cup Day Plate.

"He didn't have any luck on the Saturday and then the race wasn't run to suit on Tuesday,'' Michael Hickmott said.

"It was through no fault of Teo (Nugent) the run just didn't come when he needed,'' he said.

Lord Vladivostok is marked a $16 chance in the $500,000 feature over the mile.

"He maps to get a nice run,'' Hickmott said.

"A lot is going to depend on how the race is run but he looks like he should get cover he needs,'' he said.

Taunting tackles the $175,000 Apache Cat Classic and sits on the second line of betting a $5.00 after drawing perfectly in barrier four.

"It looks a nice barrier for him,'' Hickmott said.

"He's drawn to get across early, a lot again will depend on how the track is racing and how much pressure there is,'' he said.

Hickmott also has Qeyaady resuming with Damien Lane in the saddle and is marked a $9 chance from an inside gate over the 1000m earlier in the day.

"He jumped out pretty well behind Taunting,'' Hickmott said.

"He looks like he should get a nice run as well,'' he said.

Fellow SA horseman Travis Doudle also has a strong hand at Cranbourne led by Wiggum who provided Damien Oliver with his final Melbourne victory at Flemington on Cup Day.

The stable opted to chase the VOBIS bonus in preference to the Rebel Raider Final at Morphettville and he's marked a $3.50 second favourite behind Brave Mead over 1200m.

Doudle also has Sentimental Flame tackling the $175,000 Cranbourne Classic over the 2025m trip who is a $5 second favourite with tab.com.au.
