Neva Doubt Us aiming for back-to-back Clare features

3 minute read

Neva Doubt Us will chase second successive win in the Jim Barry Wines Clare Valley Cup (1700m) on Sunday.

The Grant Young-trained galloper was winless for 22 months leading into last year's feature when he caused a massive upset after being backed from $81 into $61 before defeating Robe Bay.

He returns to the famous wine region coming off a last start win on his home track at Murray Bridge when he defeated stablemate Jack's A Cracker, who also tackles the Cup, while Young also has saddles up Stocked And Loaded in the race.

"All three are going along pretty well,'' Young said.

"Neva Doubt Us goes there in winning form and he really does like the Clare track.

"I really like Stocked And Loaded as a horse, his effort at Gawler was very good and I think he'll win some races.

"And Jack's A Cracker is also ticking along well.

"He a funny horse (Jack's A Cracker), a grey with bad knees you'd think he'd be a horse looking for soft tracks, but he's certainly tricked me. He needs a good track but like the others he's racing well and with the right run he can be in the finish,'' he said.

Teagan Voorham takes the ride on Neva Doubt Us, Anna Jordsjo partners Stocked And Loaded while Dom Tourneur will be in the saddle aboard Jack's A Cracker.
